Cinders second milestone is done!

We finally closed Cinders second milestone! Boy was it a hard one…

 

The plan was to finish most of the game’s functionality within one month. Stuff like: saving and loading, options, resolution handling, and various in-game features like this map:

Meanwhile, Gracjana worked very hard to finish the necessary character and location art. That way we won’t have to rely on placeholders, when developing further scenes.

 

As usually happens with such ambitious goals, things took longer than expected. We ended up having two weeks of delay, even though we haven’t took a single day off since over a month.

 

But it’s finally over, and we can’t help but feel happy about the tremendous amount of work that was accomplished during this milestone. The game is pretty much fully functional, and we can focus on the final and most important stage of its development – creating an engaging and branching storyline!

 

So what’s the current plan? First, we’re taking few days of rest, to catch up on the recently released games, and to remind ourselves how the world outside of the immediate vicinity of our computer desks looks like. Maybe we’ll even go outside to take a look at that Spring thingie people are talking about.

 

We’re back to work on Monday, and we’ll be jumping head-on into working on the final milestone. If everything goes well, the game should be finished within two months.
