Solstice protagonist: Yani
Time to reveal the first of the two protagonists of Solstice. Meet Yani, the not-your-average-maintenance-person.

YANI:
They say that maintenance is an easy job. Twist some knobs, pull some levers, and learn to speak about the most mundane activities as if they were arcane knowledge.
But what if maintenance involves a system hundreds of years old, developed by scholars and practitioners of the Faith alike? What if people go missing around it?
Then, you send Yani.

She looks pretty awesome, an improvement over the Cinders characters, in my opinion. For some reason, I find the rendering to be particularly pleasing from the area under her arm – the trousers and waist look really three-dimensional, with a coherent lighting.
It’s something about her whole face and her eyes. Her hands look believable for someone who has to do some work, which is a nice touch, too.
I also REALLY like that she doesn’t look overly young. She looks reliable but with maybe a hidden sweetness, to me.

Glad you like her
. I’m fond of how Gracjana rendered her trousers as well.

Looks wonderful! I really love how Gracjana does hair. The female characters in Cinders all looked like they’d stepped right out of beautiful 17th century paintings.

I like it! I also think it’s an improvement.. well, things like that is kind of hard to judge though. It’s obviously quite a different approach after all.
I’m looking forward to it. Don’t cut any corners!

I wondered why the game wasn’t availabe on Steam (the obvious choice) and on the developer forums. I’ve just bought Analog: A Hate Story on Steam another VN the other day. I think you should’ve emphasized that the developer was Polish, I was very happy to see that on their website. I’m not going to buy Cinders yet because $23 is way too much for me to spend on an impulse purchase (or any kind of video game purchase beyond Firaxis games, to be honest), but I’m going to keep an eye on the dev. If you are undecided about buying the game, keep in mind that the same amount of US dollars is worth more for Polish people than for you, so the money is going to someone who will be able to use it very well (ie buy the game now ). Just my two cents as a fellow Eastern European.

The game is not on Steam because Steam rejected it. As simple as that.
.
Cinders was recently in a 50% off promotion, so shame you missed that, but if you simply can’t afford the game — let me know through email, and we’ll think of something
